The Vermont Book Shop will be hosting a week-long Two Ways to Give campaign to benefit Addison County Readers, Inc. and H.O.P.E. from November 10-16, 2018.
One Way to Give
Blind Date with a Book! It's back! Select a book or books wrapped in brown paper with a few keywords or a review on the outside to indicate what kind of book it might be. Make a donation (suggested $2) to Addison County Readers, Inc. for each one! All proceeds will go directly to Addison County Readers, Inc.
Second Way to Give
Participate in a Llama Llama Pajama Drive
Bring in a pair of new pajamas for kids in need! All pajamas will go directly to H.O.P.E. Additionally, for every pair of pajamas we collect and donate, Penguin Young Readers will donate a book to Anna Dewdney's Pajama Program.
Additionally, the Vermont Book Shop will donate 24-copy carton of Indies First spokesperson and National Book Award finalist Jason Reynolds' book, GHOST to Addison County Readers, Inc.
These fundraisers are presented as part of the Love Your Bookstore Challenge (November 10 - 16) when readers challenge friends and fans to visit their favorite bookstores! Participants go into their local bookstore (any bookstore!) between November 10 and November 16 and take a picture of the book they are most excited to gift this holiday season and post your photo to Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter sometime November 10 - 16 with the hashtag #loveyourbookstore and you’ll be entered to win awesome bookish prizes! When you post, challenge five friends to go love THEIR favorite bookstore too. Find out more here!
