The Vermont Bookshop is honored to present an evening of poetry with Julia Shipley and David Weinstock.
Julia Shipley is the author of Adam’s Mark named a Best Book of 2014 by the Boston Globe, and a debut collection entitled, The Academy of Hay, winner of the Melissa Lanitis Gregory Poetry Prize. A two-time recipient of grants from the Vermont Community Foundation and the Vermont Arts Council, her writing has also appeared or is forthcoming in Gettysburg Review, Green Mountains Review, FIELD, North American Review, The Salon and Poetry. She lives in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom.
David Weinstock lives, writes and teaches in Middlebury, where he leads the long-running Otter Creek Poets open workshop. His poems have appeared in Moment, Riding the Meridian, Modern Haiku, The Journal of the American Medical Association, Lyric, and Monterey Poetry Review, and his book-length collection The Amalek Poems is online at Truck and will also be available to purchase at the reading.
