If you're a Vermont-based, indie-published author, you may be wondering, how can I get my book in the store?
Please note: If your book is available through a major publisher or a distributor such as Ingram or Baker & Taylor, and is returnable, please contact our Head Buyer, Becky Dayton at 802-388-2061 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org. If we decide to carry it, we will order direct.
If you are a local author or your book is self-published or published through a small press, please see our consignment program information (CLICK HERE), also available in the store. You must live in the state of Vermont, or an approved nearby region (Hello Adirondacks!) or your book must contain content specific to Addison County.
We review every book that we consider before making our decision, and look for the following in newly self-published books:
- Publication date no older than six months
- Author name and title on the spine
- Relevant and quality content
- Minimal typos, with a clean professional design
- ISBN required, barcode preferred
- Meets standard shelf-size requirements
If you believe your book meets our basic criteria, we will be happy to consider it. Please email Jenny Lyons at the email address below to make an appointment to bring your book into the store for review. Please DO NOT drop off books without an appointment. Books dropped off without the consent of the program coordinator will not be accepted or considered. If you come into the store without an appointment, please leave an email address and short description of your book with a bookseller and we will get back to you.
