Will Schwalbe will read from and discuss his latest book, now in paperback, Books for Living.
"If the amount of time a book has remained in my physical presence—either beside my bed, on the kitchen counter, in my car, on my desk, or in my purse long after I have finished reading it—is any indication of its particular significance to me, then Books for Living has topped them all. Not because it instructed me in love or absolved me of guilt or introduced me to art, but because it spotlighted all of these things books can do—and more—with its reminiscences of lessons learned via the written word. Will Schwalbe, also the author of the beloved The End of Your Life Book Club, has with his new book captured the role novels, picture books, memoirs, thrillers—all varieties of volumes, really—play in the lives of book people like us. Reading it validated me, inspired me, and challenged me.
